LIGHT PASSAGE (ARCH 253)

LOCATION
: Open House, Cal Poly campus

PROJECT TYPE : installation

PROBLEM STATEMENT : Given one of designer Richard Kelly's qualities of light --
play of brilliants
--construct a light module as a group of six. Built to predetermined specifications, the module was ultimately part of a series of light modules to be displayed during Open House.

DESIGN GOALS :
- a "field of brilliance" created from clear and colored plexiglass rods penetrating a layer of welded pieces of metal
- a "waterfall" for an added effect of light bouncing off the water's surface and an auditory element to complement the experience
