LOCATION : Masséna, 12th arrondissement, Paris

PROJECT TYPE : multi-family housing

PROBLEM STATEMENT : Design a 36-unit apartment complex to be a part of a new development of nine blocks of housing just east of the National Library. In addition to the homes, the program also included a grocery store, media center & children's library (to serve the children of the adjacent school), and small theater.

DESIGN GOALS :
- plentiful solar access for all units
- providing adequate outdoor space for residents
- exploring the relationship between private and public spaces
- designing to complement the existing apartments while maintaining an individuality
for the building
